Quality, Safety & Mission Assurance

Cummings Aerospace Quality, Safety & Mission Assurance (QSMA) engineers support NASA and DoD customers in the operations of ground support and launch vehicles for orbital and sub-orbital systems. We provide safety engineering support to the NASA Ground Systems Development & Operations (GSDO) and the Space Launch System (SLS) programs. Our DoD QSMA efforts include providing launch service mission assurance support for the USAF, the Missile Defense Agency (MDA), and the Aviation & Missile Research, Development, & Engineering Center (AMRDEC).

Cummings Aerospace’s QSMA experts include Certified Safety Managers (CSM), Certified Occupational Safety Specialists (COSS), and Certified Software Quality Engineers. We specialize in OSHA standards and compliance; generation of Preliminary Hazard Analysis (PHA); development of Failure Mode and Effects Analyses (FMEAs); and development of Safety Data Packages (SDPs).

Mission Assurance

Cummings Aerospace provides unique and insightful Mission Assurance (MA) support based on our extensive experience as hardware and software system developers on tactical and strategic weapons and target systems. We understand that MA covers the full engineering life-cycle process; identifying and mitigating design, production, test, and field support deficiencies in order to ensure mission success. Our Mission Assurance team provides our US Air Force and MDA customers with 24/7 support of system safety and rocket motor aging surveillance and control system oversight. By leveraging our in-depth system development expertise we are able to deliver assured solutions to the Army Aviation and Missile Research, Development, and Engineering Center (AMRDEC) to execute their mission.

System Safety Engineering

Cummings Aerospace’s Safety Engineers are well versed in identifying and mitigating potential safety risks. The safety risk mitigation process includes recommending design and process or procedure changes in order to prevent or reduce the likely-hood of dangerous failures or conditions from occurring or their severity should they occur. Members of our safety engineering staff hold Certified Safety Manager (CSM) and Certified Occupational Safety Specialists (COSS) certificates and specialize in Occupational Safety and Health (OSHA) standards and compliance. Cummings Aerospace’s experience includes generation of Preliminary Hazard Analysis (PHA), development of Failure Mode and Effects Analyses (FMEAs), and development of Safety Data Packages (SDPs).
